Day 1
9am-12pm:
Drawing block-in and color/painting lay-in.
Mass-in of the portrait starting with simplified envelope, then develop accuracy and likeness through comparative measurement, triangulation and use of accurate shapes. Painting at this stage will be approached in tonal separation using light and dark division. Accuracy of color will be emphasized using techniques for finding, family, temperature, intensity, value and flavor.
12pm-12:30
Gallery Q and A.
12pm-1pm:
Lunch break out.
1pm-4pm:
Student application of learned skills.
Day 2
9am-12pm
General color and value layout with focus on full color palette for flesh tones.
Instruction will be given on palette layout with explanation of flesh color range. At this stage a full color palette system will be employed and locating color and value shifts will further develop the portrait. Emphasis on building the form through proper use of light logic and color choices will be taught and demonstrated.

Edges, Features and Color flourishes.
The portrait is refined by blending and restating edges. Features will be approached with simplification and proper use of details. Final touches and use of color flourishes will be taught as a means to complete the portrait.
