My last blog was a long, impassioned rant. I admit it. I’m really not much of a political animal in general, but I read something once that seems to make sense on occasion. “When you think that you can’t make a difference, remember that one raindrop raises the ocean.” So, I added my one little raindrop. Today, however, I only want to say that I am crazy in love with painting and drawing. I recently traveled and took advantage of the hours on the airplane to do a small painting with my travel watercolor set. (Of course, I spilled my paint water on myself, but, hey, another phrase I love is, “Genius is seldom tidy!”)* While on vacation, I did a lot of drawing and painting. I like to draw every day. I wish I could and I should paint every day. I have been painting on a regular basis with my friend and art mentor, Seven Nielsen. We met years ago in the University of Utah art department. This year, we both entered several art shows and if you go to my home page, you’ll see that I have had three paintings accepted in good, juried venues. Seven was accepted into those three and also into the highly prestigious Springville Museum of Art Spring Salon. I wish you could see his work. It is, in a word, great. However, he doesn’t yet have a website but Craig and I are going to see to that little problem post haste. I have a painting dream that I hope will come to fruition this August. I will let you know if it does in my next blog.
