Renon Hulet's First Ever Blog

Hi to all of my art-loving family and friends. This is the very first blog on my brand new web site. I am so excited to finally have a site that I can edit and manipulate by myself, without having to constantly enlist the help of my computer genius, but very busy husband, Craig. I can't thank him enough for his help and patience over the years. Without him, I wouldn't be where I am in my art career. I don't believe there is a more supportive companion. Thanks to all of you, as well, who read this. Your support is beautiful. I marvel at the precious connection I have to you through art. Artist Robert Henri said, "The artist should be intoxicated with the idea of the thing he wants to express." I love painting. I don't think I quite achieved the satisfaction over the years as a writer that I feel as a painter. Perhaps it is the visual nature of it all. Seeing immediate results of effort. Actually "feeling" the effect of paint on canvas or paper. Being surprised by the wonderful lucky accidents that occur when the paint and the surface take control. To me, painting is like dreaming in reality. Oh well. This is fun.

Ma, I know from my own experience working with you the immense satisfaction I have. Every artist invests a small portion of their soul into every piece they create. They should be able to sympathize with how a mother sees their children. Since you are both an artist and my mother, I am awestruck by the seemingly endless soul you are willing to share. I am proud that I am your child, and that have such a great example to measure up to in life. Your website should be and is an excellent way for the world to see this.

Geoff! You are my first reply! What a cool deal, huh? Thank you for the priceless sentiments. No amount of art or words I ever create will ever compare to the infinite joy I find in you and all of my children and grandchildren--and that's the simple truth.Nevertheless, it's cool to paint something or write something pleasing. I won't deny it.

Renon, you have inspired many people and shown them that their talents lie in their belief in themselves. May I say you share your talents freely with those that want to learn. Love you new website, love that you've shared with those that see it what you are capable of!

Renon, I always knew you were talented, but this is beyond wonderful!!! You show such diversity in your choice of subjects and use of mediums...I'm in the Washington DC North Mission until March 2013, but when I return to SLC, I can't wait to come to your gallery and purchase or commission a painting.
Love to you until then,
Kathy

From the time most of us were able to hold something to create art with, we have done so.

Me and my siblings have drawn with crayon on walls, scribbled in books and magazines, finger painted our clothes and everything else we touched, chalks on the driveway, and all manner of creations we brought home from school, which were lovingly put on display by our mother. Dad, my brother, and I painted trucks, and to us, each was a work of art. Our mother is very talented and we have many of her works on display in our homes.

Renon has kept me interested. I attend one of her art classes nearly every week and I am awestruck by her diversity of creativity and talent. Hans creates his own Christmas cards every year. Renon's children are displaying their talents, and now, the grands are getting involved.May she continue to influence and inspire.
